I have been using the google analytics tool since January for our envisiononline.ca web site and I really like the application so far (I've maybe used 50% of the massive amount of tools and reports in the app). But it got me wondering - what makes a company give out such a powerful application for free ? Of course the obvious answer is that by providing free supporting tools - people can take advantage of both the adsense and adwords programs. But something inside me says - thats too easy of an answer. Are we becoming too trusting of google?
